Deca-BDE in Sweden
Sweden introduced a partial national restriction on Deca-BDE on 1 January 2007, covering use in textiles, furniture and some cables, but exempting electrical and electronic equipment. The European Commission officially started an infringement procedure against Sweden. The Swedish Government repealed the restriction on 1 July 2008.
HBCD and TBBPA in Sweden
In 2005 the Swedish Government requested the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) to evaluate a potential ban on TBBPA and HBCD, among other substances. They recommended awaiting the outcome of EU Risk Assessments before considering national restrictions.
