Regulatory Centre
A number of brominated flame retardants have been subject to evaluation by the European regulatory authorities. In some cases risks to health or environment have been identified, and, where appropriate, mandatory risk management measures have been put in place. In other cases no risks to health or environment were identified, with consequently no requirement for risk management measures.
The relevant European regulatory systems are summarized below, with reference to the substances Deca-BDE, TBBPA and HBCD in particular.
